My Artistic Goals for 2026
Jan 04, 2026
In the coming months, I want to deepen my connection to Alaska’s wild beauty by spending more time immersed in its landscapes. I hope to capture those fleeting moments of light, weather, and wildlife that make this place so extraordinary, creating images that celebrate nature’s splendor while reminding us of its fragility and resilience.
A central part of my work will continue to be exploring the soulful bonds between humans, animals, and the land we share. Through my pet and wildlife photography, I aim to tell stories that reveal these connections and encourage empathy and respect. I’m excited to collaborate with local communities and animal advocates, shining a light on the relationships that enrich our lives and the world around us.
Another important goal for 2026 is to amplify Indigenous voices and wisdom. I’m committed to learning from and working alongside Alaska’s Indigenous communities, honoring their deep-rooted knowledge and stewardship of the land. By sharing their stories and perspectives through my photography, I hope to foster greater understanding and appreciation for the cultures that have long protected these landscapes.
More than ever, I want my art to be a catalyst for conservation and action. This year, I’ll focus on projects that raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire others to protect the places and creatures we love. Whether through exhibitions, educational outreach, or partnerships with conservation organizations, I want my images to make a tangible difference.
Above all, I hope to build a community of people who are moved by the beauty and vulnerability of our world. I invite you to follow along, share your own stories, and join me in taking action, big or small, to help protect what matters most. I will continue to donate a portion of the proceeds of my art sales to the nonprofit organizations I support. Here’s to a year of wonder, connection, and meaningful impact.
All the best,
David
